Tame Impala's 'Lonerism' Released Five Years Ago Today

Renowned Australian psychedelic rock group, Tame Impala, released their second studio album, Lonerism, exactly five years today ago via Modular Recordings. These guys have moved us beyond belief and have personally shaped many of our group's lives to this day.

It's hard to believe Lonerism released only five years ago, because I am certainly for one still fully invested in the future based production, experimental sounds, and the catchy simplicity this album is heavily known for. The man behind the music is lead guitarist and singer, Kevin Parker, who personally produced the entire album on his own making a huge impact on what is possible in today's music industry.

Kevin's ways of bending the rules is what put Tame Impala on the global map with a complete DIY mentality, with hit songs including their first international single "Elephant". Soon after this day five years ago, artists from all necks of the woods began to take notice that Tame Impala was certainly a truthful way of expressing a love for music from legends such as Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Ringo Starr, Arcade Fire, Jack White, along with almost every name in the book.

Although Lonerism released October 5th in Australia, the U.S. release date was indeed today October 9th, 2012 leaving a legacy of opportunity for themselves and many new artists alike. Currently, the genius behind songs like "Be Above It", "Mind Mischief""Apocalypse Dreams", and "Feels Like We're Only Going Backwards" has producer credits for your favorite artists including Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Run The Jewels, Solange and so many more.

Celebrate your day with Tame Impala's Lonerism and if you haven't had the pleasure of giving this glorious record a listen, now is the perfect time! Currently Tame Impala is taking a well deserved break in the process working on their upcoming fourth studio album.

Happy Fifth Birthday Lonerism!

III Points are officially back and bringing their fifth annual Music, Art, and Technology Festival October 13th - 15th, 2017 to the heart of Miami, Florida. III Points takes pride in providing a extremely unique yet futuristic setting for all artists and attendees alike. Here's our annual three reasons why attending III Points Festival this year is an absolute must.

1. LINEUP

Year after year, III Points has continued to support our South Florida music scene as well as bring an insane amount of national talent to the table. To say the least, these three heavy hitting headliners are more than enough of a reason to make your way to this year's event. Gorillaz, The XX, and Nicolas Jaar are ALL providing an efficient headlining experience that defines what III Points is all about. Please note that this will be the Gorillaz, ONE and ONLY Florida appearance.

The vibe doesn't even come close to stopping there with notorious indie, hip hop, psychedelic, and electronic artists that will keep you more than intrigued throughout the day. Some of our highlighted acts this year include Danny Brown, Thundercat, Lil B, Mark Ronson vs Kevin Parker (of Tame Impala), BADBADNOTGOOD, Willow Smith, BonoboRüfüs Du Sol, Kali Uchis, Hundred Waters, Jacuzzi Boys, Twelve'len, along with seriously so many more.

Dive into an immersive world of a variety of genres and a number of artists you may have not necessarily heard of. Here, take a look at the recently released updated daily lineup below.

2. LOCATION

We're beyond relieved that this year's event will be taking place once again at the legendary Mana Wynwood Convention Center for the third consecutive year in a row. III Points has done a phenomenal job providing year round events in the Wynwood Art District such as film festivals, day parties, Art Basel gigs, and a number of live performances from bands, rap artists, and DJs alike.

Remember, you’re in Miami Florida. You literally have the world at your hands and can enjoy a number of activities South Florida has to offer because the event will not be starting until 5 PM each day. Get your Cuban cuisine on, enjoy the water on South Beach, and enjoy the history our beautiful city has to offer. Your options are simply limitless with a perfect lineup along with an absolutely perfect location, we couldn’t ask for better convenience.

3. THE ENVIRONMENT

This is an entire new chapter for III Points and we cannot be anymore excited to see what is to come from their biggest lineup yet.  You can even expect, Brian Eno, to present a custom made audio installation he calls, The Ship, which will truly be a once in a lifetime opportunity the first night Friday October 13th.

If you're worried about food, drink, and the heat during the day itself; please find comfort knowing there are multiple indoor locations of the festival where you can find spectacular vendors, art, and performance stages.

The combination of each factor listed above truly accomplishes another sense of bringing people together. The curated artists, production, location, amount of space, art, technology, and all around pure vibes is what makes this event what it truly is.

III Points is a leading example of what the festival industry should be aiming for. Now it's time to start telling everyone and their mother where you'll be October 13th - 15th, 2017.
