Happy Birthday Frank Zappa!

American musician, songwriter, producer, composer, filmmaker, and actor known as Frank Zappa was born 75 years ago today. Although, it is very unfortunate we lost this extremely artistic individual 22 years ago, his challenging music and eye opening lyrics still play a large impact in a multitude of musicians all over the globe today.

Zappa's artistic and musical outreach led him to become a completely self-taught composer and performer. His extensive and versatile background in music gave him the capability of creating music that is still difficult to categorize today.

Frank Zappa had a highly productive profile and was honored for his independent success through receiving the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 as well as his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

It's still not the end for the Zappa legacy with days like today where we reflect on his music, with over 62 album releases in his own lifetime and a total of 38 albums after his death in 1993. Frank Zappa's eldest son also leads a full band to pay tribute to his father's history in music called, Zappa Plays Zappa who continues to tour throughout the U.S. every year.

Celebrate Zappa's life today and share some of his powerful music with a friend or three.

M83 Finishes New Album

M83 have officially finished working on the next studio album, following the last release 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' back in 2011. M83 since then has created motion picture scores as well as individual tracks in films such as Black Heaven, Oblivion, and Divergent.

Anthony Gonzalez, the face and creator of M83 recently made a statement to Entertainment Weekly regarding the new album saying, "It’s a very strong album with a lot of eclecticism," he said. "It’s very epic. There’s a lot of different genres that are not supposed to live together but I tried to make them live together, which is quite challenging. It’s also quite different from the previous albums, which is what I’m the most proud of." "It’s more fun and fresh than my last album," he said. "But it’s good to take your listeners into a different maze, you know?"
