Why Brooklyn Steel Could Be The Next Premier NYC Venue

Brooklyn Steel is a much anticipated new music venue brought to us by the Bowery Presents team and the beautiful city of Brooklyn, New York. The doors to what can certainly be the next hip place in NYC opened on Thursday April 6th and are still open for a special FIVE NIGHT run with experimental legends, LCD Soundsystem.

Bowery Presents is NYC's primary venue management and concert promotion company responsible for places like Terminal 5, Mercury Lounge, Music Hall of Williamsburg, and many more top joints. The foundation of the venue itself is an old steel manufacturing plant and offers a unique mixture of relativity and authenticity giving the name, Brooklyn Steel.

The entire plant from the steel bars to the windows have been repurposed accordingly to create a safe environment for the upcoming concert goers. With heavy hitting names like The Decemberists, Two Door Cinema Club, Tycho, Father John Misty, Whitney, The Pixies, Vulfpeck, along with so many more, we are certain that Brooklyn Steel is 100% going to be the place to hang for artists and attendees alike.

Brooklyn Steel offers a perfect sized capacity set venue with New York's only moveable stage, shifting into three different positions to fit accordingly to the audience and performer. You can expect to see capacities of 1,200, 1,500, and 1,800 people which gives the perfect in between balance of Terminal 5's 5,300 capacity venue and Mercy Lounge's 250 cap. Trust us, close to every act you know and love is going to be booked at this already historical venue.

Keep your eye out for huge acts coming in the very near future with the full calendar here. Check out the photo gallery brought to us by Jenny Regan and an interactive time lapse construction video by BrooklynVegan below!
