Why House of Creatives Music Festival Is A Must

House of Creatives Music Festival will be celebrating their second annual extravaganza November 11th - 12th at the Historic Virginia Key Park in Miami, Florida. We're jazzed to see yet another DIY event take place in our home state.

Emerging from the media website House of Creatives, the two-day festival is going on their second year to host one of Miami's largest Fall events. This year's heaving hitting artists include MGMT, Alt-J, Washed Out, Metronomy, Sir Sly, Wild Belle, Peyote Coyote, Kids, along with many more to cure your indie-psyhedelic itch.

It's important to take notice the genre of all these artists, as there hasn't been a festival pertaining to underground indie and pop music in the Florida scene. Yes, we've seen a number of individual concerts but never a full blown festival dedicated to honoring a culture that many of us grew up in over the years.

To experience Alt-J and MGMT alone is more than enough of a reason to purchase a weekend pass for as low as $120, which includes two entire days of music, unique art, food vendors, and an audience of attendees that will soon become your best friends.

The Historic Virginia Key Park is a separate entity from Miami itself and offers a number of attractions including beautiful shorelines, fulfilling beach areas, eco-wetlands, bike riding, and picnic opportunities for friends and family alike, before entering the House of Creatives grounds.

The time is now to tell everyone where you'll be the second week of November and to begin purchasing your General Admission or VIP tickets for the lowest price possible. Find all of your necessary ticketing, travel, and event information HERE. We'll see you soon House of Creatives!

Charles Bradley Passes Away At 68

Charles Edward Bradley, an american funk, soul, and R&B singer/songwriter, passed away at the young age of 68 years old today due to a long battle with stomach cancer. Charles was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida and witnessed his first live performance in 1962 at the Apollo Theater of James Brown.

This alone, inspired him to work as hard as he could to have atleast half the talent Brown put onto the stage. If you have ever seen Charles Bradley live, you can clearly see a direct James Brown influence. Now, Charles Bradley has been an extremely active performer when it comes to releasing music as well as live shows for the last 42 years. Charles was represented by Daptone Records and never took a break in making beautiful music for himself and most importantly the people around him.

Over the years, Bradley developed a notorious nickname as the screaming eagle of soul. To be in the presence of Charles Bradley was like experiencing a piece of history, tapping into your spirituality, and feeling unconditional love all at the same. This man put in everything he had, day in and day out, to inspire and create a spark in others which he has successfully done by touching the lives of thousands of people around the world.

When he was diagnosed just last year with a tumor found in his stomach he proudly stated, “I will fight through this like I’ve fought through the many other obstacles in my life". After receiving immense treatment, the cancer unfortunately spread leading to his liver forcing his recent show cancellations.

It's also important you understand the history and experience Bradley's life and music beginnings that were released in documented in 2012 in the Charles Bradley: Soul of AmericaLet his hard work and dedication to changing the world put a little light in your life knowing that people like Charles Bradley are truly placed on this Earth for a reason.
