The Strokes Release 'The New Abnormal'

New York’s very own, The Strokes, have just released their sixth studio album titled ‘The New Abnormal’ under RCA Records. This comes six years after their full length ‘Comedown Machine’ and is the first release since the Future Present Past EP.

The anticipated album was entirely produced by Rick Rubin, while the group recorded at his Shangri-La Studios located in Malibu, California. The album cover art was changed prior to the release and is now a painting titled “Bird on Money” and pays tribute to the great Jean-Michel Basquiat, a late neo-expressionist New York artist who passed away at the young age of 27 years old in 1988.

The Strokes Are Officially Recording New Material

This past weekend The Strokes headlined Live Out Monterrey Festival in Mexico. While enjoying their stay, The Strokes were found to have booked studio space not only for show rehearsal but also to record drum tracks for upcoming new music.

This exciting information has been confirmed from Victoria Records CEO, Victoria Morales-Kühne where she shared an Instagram post with one of her favorite bands. With that being said, we can get excited for The Strokes sixth studio album release hopefully on it's way in 2016!
